Where the seismic line goes in Bodrum

In Bodrum, a seismic survey is part of the file in every permit-stage ground investigation. A straight line across the plot is enough for the geophone spread, with no excavation or heavy machinery. On rocky, sloping plots, where the line goes and how many lines are needed is planned at the site visit together with the borehole positions. In Milas the measurement is done by the same crew, and the result is compared with the borehole data and entered in the geotechnical report as the soil class.

What sets the price

The price of a geophysical survey is set by the number and length of the lines, and both depend on the size of the plot and the number of blocks. When requested together with drilling, the survey is measured on the same field day and written into the quote as a separate item. For jobs where only a seismic survey is requested, the scope is likewise given in writing after the plot has been seen.

Seismic profile and soil class

The survey produces three things. The position of the geophone line on the plot is drawn on the plan, the layer depths and wave velocities are plotted as a seismic profile, and the soil class is written into the geotechnical report to TBDY 2018. The structural engineer uses that class in the foundation design, and where the rock rises and how the layers run is read from the profile.
