Soil and rock laboratory testing in Bodrum and Milas

Laboratory test results inform the geotechnical calculations and report. Otto Mühendislik labels each core and soil sample from its Bodrum and Milas sites with its borehole, depth and date before sending it to the external laboratory in Aydın. Results remain linked to those records in the final report.

Scope of work

The work items are confirmed in the quote, based on the plot and project requirements.

  • Borehole, depth and date label on every sample
  • Dispatch to the laboratory and test tracking
  • Results entered in the geotechnical calculation
  • Test reports attached to the survey file

What you receive

Test reports
Every sample with its borehole, depth and date. Appended to the survey file.
Sample list
What went to the laboratory and which test was run.

If an inspector asks where a sample came from, the answer is already in the report.

The samples that come out of Bodrum

Bodrum's rocky plots yield cores of carbonate rock, while a soil sample is taken from plots on soil. The two receive different tests, and which test is needed is decided by the type of sample. The samples that go for testing are chosen on site while the borehole log is written. Every sample goes into the box with its borehole, depth and date label. Samples from sites in Milas are dispatched the same way, and the result comes back in the report under the same label.

What sets the price

Laboratory tests appear in the quote as a separate item, with their number. The number of tests is set by the number and type of samples, and the number of samples depends on the borehole count and depth. That is why the testing item cannot be known before the site visit. Otto Mühendislik selects the tests the report needs, adds no surplus tests and writes no report on too few.

How the result comes back into the report

The test result comes back from the laboratory under its borehole, depth and date label and enters the geotechnical calculation under that same label. The test reports sit in the survey file's appendix exactly as they came from the laboratory. The sample list records which sample went and which test was run, so the source of every value in the report is found at a glance.
